Be sure to check back here on the blog at 5pm tomorrow for our first ever interactive blog game! We'll be talking about buzzwords and phrases in a historic speech, and also playing some trivia - where the first person to answer all the questions correctly in the comments will be the winner!
But what does winning get you, you may ask? If you win one of our interactive blog games you get to pick your side in the next debate, a rare never-before-given opportunity! Get excited and come prepared to play, we'll see you at 5:00! The game will end at 6:30 so any post after 6:30 will NOT count! - Katherine, VP Thank you to Elizabeth Carley for her awesome prize suggestion.

Polling is up! We would love for you to vote for the topic that best fits your interest! The polling will go down on March 3, 2016 at 11:59 PM EST and later announced on March 4, 2016. What topic did you vote for? :)
Your Club Officers, Elizabeth Carley, Katherine, and Mabel Ladies and gents, boys and girls, roll up roll up for the very first Speech and Debate themed debate! Tonight at 7pm we'll be debating whether or not teens under the age of 16 should be allowed to date, but this topic was not randomly chosen! No, today our session is in honor of Valentine's Day, which is coming up this Sunday the 14th.
However, once the special holiday is over that does not mean themed sessions will be going out the window. From now on the Speech and Debate Club will be hosting one themed session... each and every month! This means that one of our usual two debates per month will be relevant to a holiday, an event, or to another awesome FLVS club we are collaborating with. This also means a few special rules will come into play - when we team up with a club, the topic will most likely not be voted on. This is just because we want to be fair to the other group and not only give them time to prepare but a chance to decide if they'd like to join us for a back-and-forth about this particular debate topic! We already have a club in mind for a very intriguing themed session sometime soon, so be prepared for some exciting announcements! Thanks for reading, we hope to see you later tonight! - Katherine, VP The polling results are in for our meeting on February 11, 2016 at 7:00 PM EST. Prior to the meeting please do research on the topic and come with some great ideas to help your team! We hope to see you there! Debate Topic: Should teenagers under the age of 16 be allowed to date?
